The Un-Intentional Beginning

I have never been one to pass up a good deal and am not fond of people getting too close into my personal life. To everyone who knows and loves me.......you are so dear to me that there would be a hole in my life if anything happened to any of you.

With that said immediately after beginning this blog I saw a wonderful dishwasher at an amazing price, and in my pajamas knew it would be the perfect jumping off point. So I have jumped both feet into the remodel without having every finish, cabinet, and color decided. Great design always uses an inspiration piece to pull everything together, so why can't a really great dishwasher be the inspiration for my complete remodel.

The Back Story

Almost four very years ago I purchased a cute little house. Well actually its my first house and first time to live alone, but is a 90's builders spec house. Did I mention I hate builder spec homes, most lack design, class, and all the little things that make the built world spectacular. In the case of mine it lacks alot, like a dishwasher, 2nd bathroom, landscaping unless you call the brown dried up weeds lanscaping. The goal is to get this unspectacular house turned around and make it showroom ready so the kids and I can escape the city to the country where we really do belong!

I have kept my private life a closed book for many years, but so many of you have been living with me while I have been trying to pick cabinets, floors, vanities, granite and so on that I decided it was finally time to get this up and running. I promise to get pics of before we moved into the house up in the coming weeks.

The goal of the remodel: Do something about the yard, turn the 1/2 bath into a full bath off the Master Bedroom, rework the flow of the kitchen & install new cabinets and granite counters, update the main bathroom, install new floors throughout the entire house, repaint top to bottom including ceilings, install new baseboards and trim, and possibly new doors
